Principles of Shibori with Indigo & Acid Dyes - Oct 12

In this two hour workshop, you'll learn about the six types of shibori techniques: Kanoko, Miura, Kumo, Nui, Arashi, and Itajime. You'll get to try your hand at indigo AND acid dyes using these techniques. After some practice on cotton squares you will then dye your own cotton bandana and silk scarf in the techniques that speak to you. In addition to your finished and practice pieces, you'll also get a set of handouts with instructions so that you can continue your shibori exploration at home.

About the instructor...
Heather Marano has been dyeing fibers for nearly ten years. She incorporates her dyed yarns into her own knitwear designs and teaches both knitting and dyeing classes in the Bay Area.
