Join quilter, Dana Miller for this Quilted Tote Bag workshop. This is the perfect follow up class to Beginner Sewing or maybe you just want to brush up on your sewing skills. In this class, we will learn
some basics of quilting all while constructing a tote bag that includes a pocket. Sewing topics will include: measuring using a grid mat & ruler, rotary cutter use & safety, quilt piecing, pressing & basting, simple pocket construction, basic tote bag assembly.

This is an Advanced Beginner Class. Students must know how to use a machine and have basic sewing skills. Please come to class with all supplies listed below: 
Sewing Machine in good working order (with power cord and pedal)
● Machine Quilting Needles 90/14: Machine quilting needles have a specifically tapered, ultra
sharp point and extra stiff shaft to provide better stitch quality through multiple layers of fabric.
● Walking foot attachment for your sewing machine
● One mini charm pack
● 1 yard each of 2 coordinating fabrics
● One package Cotton Batting - craft size 34”x45” OR one package of fusible fleece
● 1/2 yard Featherweight to mid-weight fusible interfacing if not using fleece
● Coordinating Thread
About Dana Miller
A 3rd generation fiber artist, Dana's passion for art started as a child. With a 20+ year career in
design...from graphic design to event design and then quilt design. Her passion for fiber arts has
extended 10+ years by bringing texture and comfort into our everyday lives. Dana has a wide technique
in machine and hand stitching. She receives much joy from making new, artistic creations and sharing
this passion with students, peers and colleagues. She has participated in numerous local craft fairs
including Fog Fest, Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival and the San Carlos Art & Wine Festival. When she is
away from her home studio, she spends a lot of time with family and friends. She is very active in
surfing, snowboarding, hiking and finding inspiration in her love of the outdoors.
